Chipalo Solar

Our flagship solar plant, set to become the first of its kind in Zambia’s Northern Province, is scheduled for completion in early-mid 2027. Designed as a grid-connected facility, it will deliver reliable renewable energy while creating jobs and opportunities through the use of local labour.

The solar plant will diversify energy generation in a region currently heavily reliant on hydropower, which is increasingly vulnerable to the impacts of climate change. It also reduces dependence on diesel-based energy, which is subject to imports, political factors, and price volatility. By introducing a stable, renewable source of electricity, the project strengthens energy security and supports a more resilient energy future.

A total of 23 MW (AC) of solar capacity will be connected to the grid, supported by high-efficiency PV panels, inverters and transformers designed to optimize energy conversion and ensure stable, efficient grid integration.
